Magnetic Core Cutter Regrinding Across the UAE

MEPR provides technical regrinding and refurbishment of HSS and carbide-tipped magnetic core cutters and annular cutters used in fabrication, structural steelwork, construction, maintenance and industrial drilling applications.

Each magnetic core cutter is assessed for tooth wear, cutting-edge condition, relief geometry, gullets, cutter-body condition and remaining regrind allowance before quotation and approval.

When Regrinding Is Possible

A Worn Magnetic Core Cutter Does Not Always Need Replacement

Where the cutter body, teeth, shank and remaining cutting length are technically suitable, an HSS or TCT magnetic core cutter may be professionally reground and returned to productive use.

MEPR assesses every magnetic core cutter and annular cutter individually. Regrinding proceeds only after the cutter condition, available regrind allowance and required scope have been reviewed.

HSS annular cutters are generally manufactured with an allowance for resharpening, but this allowance is finite. TCT and carbide-tipped core cutters must also be assessed carefully for chipped or damaged teeth before regrinding is approved.

When Should a Magnetic Core Cutter Be Assessed?

Send your HSS or TCT magnetic core cutters for assessment when you notice one or more of the following conditions:

Slower cutting than normal

Increased heat during drilling

Excessive drilling pressure

Poor or inconsistent hole finish

Heavy burr formation

Chipped or damaged teeth

Uneven tooth wear

Increased vibration during cutting

Difficulty starting or completing the hole

Stop using a badly worn or damaged magnetic core cutter and arrange an assessment before further tooth or cutter-body damage occurs.

How It Works

A Clear Process for Magnetic Core Cutter Regrinding

1

Cutter Collection

MEPR/Falcon can arrange magnetic core cutter collection from your premises.

2

Inspection & Scope

MEPR reviews the magnetic core cutter condition, tooth damage and remaining regrind allowance to prepare the proposed scope.

3

Quotation

The proposed scope, quotation and expected turnaround are confirmed and shared with you.

4

Customer Approval

Regrinding begins only after you approve the quotation and confirmed scope.

5

Regrinding & Verification

The approved cutting geometry is restored using the appropriate controlled process.

6

Quality Verification & Return

The serviced magnetic core cutter is checked before being returned to you.

Cutter Types We Assess

Magnetic Core Cutter Types We Assess

Magnetic core cutters and annular cutters are manufactured in different constructions, including HSS and TCT/carbide-tipped configurations, standard and long-series cutting depths, and a range of common diameters and shank types. The recommended service depends on the cutter's actual condition, confirmed only after inspection.

HSS Magnetic Core Cutters

Assessment and regrinding support for HSS magnetic core cutters and annular cutters, subject to tooth condition and remaining regrind allowance.

TCT / Carbide-Tipped Core Cutters

Assessment of TCT and carbide-tipped magnetic core cutters for tooth wear, damaged tips, cutter-body condition and technical regrinding suitability.

Final acceptance depends on the magnetic core cutter construction, physical condition, tooth damage and remaining usable cutting length.

Why MEPR

Technical Regrinding Built Around the Magnetic Core Cutter

Engineering-Led Assessment

Each HSS or TCT magnetic core cutter is evaluated individually based on tooth condition, cutter construction, body condition and remaining regrind allowance.

Geometry-Focused Regrinding

The regrinding scope considers cutting-edge geometry, tooth height, relief angles, gullets and chip-clearance features — not visible sharpness alone.

HSS & TCT Cutter Experience

MEPR assesses both HSS magnetic core cutters and TCT or carbide-tipped annular cutters, subject to their physical condition and technical suitability.

UAE Customer Support

Technical coordination is available for fabrication, construction, engineering and industrial customers in Abu Dhabi, Mussafah, Ras Al Khaimah and across the UAE.

Who We Support

MEPR supports magnetic core cutter regrinding requirements for:

  • Fabrication companies
  • Structural-steel contractors
  • Engineering workshops
  • Construction contractors
  • MEP contractors
  • Equipment-rental companies
  • Industrial maintenance teams
  • Manufacturing and machining companies
  • Shutdown and project-maintenance teams

Whether the requirement is for a small number of magnetic core cutters or a larger operational batch, every cutter is assessed before the scope and quotation are confirmed.

More Than Edge Sharpening

Engineering Capability Behind Magnetic Core Cutter Regrinding

Magnetic Core Cutter Edge & Tooth Height

Worn cutting edges and tooth-to-tooth consistency are assessed before the approved magnetic core cutter geometry is restored.

Relief & Cutting Angles

The relief and inclination angles of the magnetic core cutter are reviewed to support controlled engagement and consistent drilling performance.

Gullet & Chip Clearance

The gullets and chip-clearance features of the annular cutter are checked as part of the technical regrinding scope.

Cutter Body, Shank & Tooth Condition

The magnetic core cutter body, shank, tooth damage and remaining cutting length are inspected before the cutter is accepted for regrinding.

Quality Verification

Serviced magnetic core cutters are checked before being returned to production.

Consistent Execution

An experienced technical team delivers repeatable, dependable magnetic core cutter regrinding.

Magnetic core cutter performance depends on more than visible sharpness. Tooth height, relief geometry, inclination angles, gullets, chip-clearance features and tooth-to-tooth consistency must all be considered during regrinding.

Turnaround & Collection

Less Friction, Faster Return to Production

Turnaround Confirmed After Inspection

Turnaround will be confirmed after inspection based on cutter condition, quantity and collection location. Priority requirements can be reviewed after inspection and scope confirmation.

  • Arrange magnetic core cutter collection
  • Inspect the magnetic core cutters
  • Confirm technical suitability
  • Recommend the appropriate regrinding scope
  • Return the serviced cutters after quality verification

Common Questions

Magnetic Core Cutter Regrinding FAQ

Suitability depends on whether the cutter is HSS or TCT, its tooth condition, cutter-body condition, shank condition and remaining cutting length. Final acceptance is confirmed after technical inspection.

Yes. Assessment is based on the magnetic core cutter dimensions, construction, tooth geometry and physical condition rather than the brand name alone.

Turnaround will be confirmed after inspection based on cutter condition, quantity and collection location. Priority requirements can be reviewed after inspection and scope confirmation.

Carbide-tipped magnetic core cutters may be suitable for refurbishment depending on the condition of the cutter body, carbide tips, tooth seats and overall geometry. Inspection is required before the scope is confirmed.

Regrinding generally restores worn cutting edges on a magnetic core cutter through controlled material removal. Refurbishment may involve a broader scope to restore damaged or worn components. The correct process depends on the cutter's condition.

Falcon/MEPR can arrange magnetic core cutter collection, inspect the cutters and confirm the recommended scope before work begins. Collection availability can be coordinated through the enquiry process.
